Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closers are made to suit the various sizes of trunking. Two Fireplug ETC are supplied up to 3″ x 3″. Three Fireplug ETC are supplied for larger sizes.

All other sizes are available.

Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closers are made using Firefly 102 intumescent and are totally enclosed in aluminium foil. The aluminium foil acts as protection against mechanical and chemical damage. Each Fireplug ETC has an adhesive strip.
Under the action of heat the intumescent in the Fireplug ETC expands sealing the trunking against the passage of hot gases and toxic fumes. The intumescent also absorbs the heat, this detracts from the passage of heat along the metal trunking.
Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closer has been tested by TRADA to British Standard 476 part 20, on 14th May 1993, test No. IT360. two hours insulation and integrity was achieved. A full test report is available on request.

Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closers are supplied ready to suit the size of trunking. Installation is carried out by simply removing the backing paper from the adhesive strip and pressing the adhesive firmly onto the inside of the trunking directly where it penetrates the wall. N.B. care must be taken to ensure that all the ETC’s are adhered opposite to each other and that they are within the structure being breached by the trunking.
